Slow. Close. Sad or Sweet.
Partnered Blues dancing is like the music that inspires it: it explores riffs and repetitions based on simple ideas. It evolved from African solo dance to share the expression of life’s full range of emotions through improvisational movement with a partner.
It’s a connection-centric form of dance generally danced to slow blues music and driven by the music’s pulse. It does not rely on a common range or syllabus of patterns – instead, it focuses on improvisational movement to music that is transferred to the partner through the connection.
